How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Everyone needs a little help sometimes. Just because you are coming to therapy does not mean you are "broken" or that something is "wrong" with you. Therapy can help you work through your struggles and learn new ways to manage the stress in your life.
Therapy is good self care.
What can I expect from my first therapy session?
Your first session will revolve mostly around you telling me about yourself and your history and the challenges you are facing. Also, it's okay to feel a bit nervous and just know that it's totally normal. I will do my best to provide a safe space so that you can feel comfortable sharing your story with me.
What is your cancellation policy?
To cancel a scheduled therapy session, a minimum of 24 hours notice of cancellation of your session is required. If prior and timely notification is not given, you will be charged the full session fee for the missed session.
Do you take insurance?
I do not accept insurance at this time.
This is preferable for most people since health insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis before they will reimburse for services, and this diagnosis becomes part of your permanent insurance record. This way we can ensure your privacy and confidentiality and that our sessions will not be influenced by the requirements of your health insurance company.
